Short characteristics

It is a beautiful loop in the undulating terrain of the eastern ridge of the Kaczawa Mountains. It leads mostly on flat and empty asphalt roads and is almost entirely in the open. The track is not marked in the field. Our description goes clockwise. With 420m of elevation gain over the distance of 19km it is classified as a light MTB, although the roads are easy to cycle on.

Bolkow – Pastewnik (0-6.4 km)

This is an uphill section. You start at the market square in Bolkow and you enter quiet asphalt roads among the fields out of town. There are some nice views over the forested Walbrzych Mountains to the east. The ridges of the Kaczawa Mountains are right in front of you and that is where you are heading. There is a longer uphill stretch with 8% of steepness and heavily damaged asphalt road in the forest, which can even get to 12% towards the end.

Pastewnik-Plonina (6.4-10.5 km)

You emerge from the forest at the highest point of the loop. From there on, the track goes mostly downhill. You can see the Rudawy Janowickie and the sensational Karkonosze Mountains on the left. In Plonina you pass the reconstructed Niesytno Castle, which after its renovation will be a great tourist attraction of the route.

Plonina – Bolkow (10.5-19.3 km)

You descent on a comfortable asphalt road through the Kaczawa Mountains. In Raciborowice you turn onto a field road, where you can enjoy the beauty of nature yet again.
