Short characteristics

This is a few-kilometre-long connector led across a slightly hilly and very pleasant terrain. It is scenic and flat. This section is worth remembering when planning longer trips, e.g. from Lubawka the Krucze or Zawory Mountains (Góry Zawory), Mieroszowice Depression (Obniżenie Mieroszowice), Suche Mountains (Góry Suche) or Lesista Massif (Masyw Lesistej) to Walbrzych/Boguszow Gorce.

This place is only moderately developed but it is a great curiosity of the area. Kochanow Caves (Jaskinie Kochanowskie) is a complex of caves and shelters located in the Kamienna Gora district. The entrances to these caves are located on the site of former quarries. At the beginning of the 19th century, Kochanow was a wealthy village as sandstone mines operated in the area and limestone was mined and was fired in lime kilns numerous in the area. In 2020, the place was comprehensively cleared by the State Forests, thanks to which it is much easier and safer to get to the caves. It is worth being careful, because there is a steep descent that leads inside.

I met a gnome in a beret there! I looked into those cavernous eyes and I felt sorry for this curious creature that the light had turned to stone forever. Surprised, she wanted to escape into the depths of her benevolent land and she almost succeeded... The whole sandstone complex of rocks is really nice. You will meet it at the yellow trail from the MTB Sudetes Zone system (Kamienna Gora yellow trail). The regular yellow trail from Kamienna Gora is nearby. The aforementioned MTB yellow is probably the easiest section of the entire mountain system. If you want to start your mountain biking adventure somewhere, it is a very good place.

The zoo in Laczna specializes in lemurs. Visitors can not only see, but also interact with these exotic animals.

On the market square in Mieroszow, in the north-western corner, there is a new town hall and the Golden House - one of the most characteristic monuments of Mieroszow. The whole square is surrounded by picturesque, colourful tenement houses and there is a monument with a plaque commemorating the 670th anniversary of granting its city rights.

This is a place where small as well as slightly bigger cyclists can test their technical riding skills on hills and jumps before setting off into the field. The facility was created mainly for cyclists but there are also numerous other attractions, such as an outdoor gym, parks, a stage, places to relax, walking paths and an observation tower.

This parish church of St. Michael the Archangel was already mentioned in 1356, but it was erected around 1427 after the fire of the castle and the castle chapel. Rebuilt many times, incl. in the years 1590-1595, 1601-1603, 1714-1717, 1865, it was restored in 1905 and 1958. It is an oriented, brick, three-nave basilica with a square chancel ending with a pentagonal apse. Inside, Gothic-Renaissance and Baroque portals, a stone baptismal font from 1647 and fragments of Renaissance furnishings have been preserved. The observation tower was commissioned in 2015. It rises to a height of 16 meters and offers excellent views over Mieroszow and the surrounding area. Right next to it, there is a tourist shelter and two oversized chairs of Mieszko and Dobrawa - a great place for a selfie.
