Obiszow, MTB loop. DOT31
Route details
Short characteristics
It is a must! This is a one-way sports MTB loop where competitions are held regularly. It is
about 35km long and there is 560m of elevation gain. The route is well marked (333
directional posts) and cleaned (although sometimes there are piles of debris between the
competitions). It was marked out on forest ducts with various substrates and narrow field
paths, there are also small sections of banded bends or pumptracks. The route winds around
Obiszow in the east part of the Dalkow Hills (the Polkowice Hills). The ride has a very
interval character as there are many short steep climbs and descents separated by more
horizontal, sometimes soft, sections. The most interesting and demanding is the beginning and
the end of the loop (Obiszowski Grod and Grodek).
The sporting purpose of the loop should not scare ordinary cyclists off because it is a very
pleasant track where you pass charming forest ponds. The most beautiful thing is that, apart
from crossing the asphalt roads twice (you have to be careful), you can experience 35km of
full contact with nature right at your fingertips.
The photos are arranged in the order of cycling and I think they reflect well not only the
sporty character, but also the charms of the route.
Dziadoszan – Some old history as a bonus
It is hard to believe but this very route at its ends leads right next to the old embankments of
the Slavic stronghold from the 9th century. A bit further on, in the fields where you exit the
forest, there are beautiful educational boards and a 1:1 reconstruction of the castle. All this is
dominated by a tasteful, well-designed and well-made grandstand. This is a place where you
can stop and smile remembering those 35km of the track.
