Route details

Short characteristics

It is a linear route of medium length but with a specific elevation difference. If you start in
Luboradz, you need to add almost 1km of elevation gains in total to 42km of the length. The
ascents and descents are concentrated in the southern part and it undoubtedly has the solid
MTB character. Ground climbs of about 20% will give you a hard time, even if you push the
bike. The southern section is led on dirt roads, in the north you ride on smooth asphalt.

An important connecting road

In this publication, we avoid linear routes, especially those that start and end ‘nowhere’.
Loops are a sign of the current leisure fashion! However, the Polish Village Trail is worth
remembering because it is a convenient and beautiful connecting road that allows you to
‘jump’ from the Jelenia Gora Valley to Kaczawa.

Lower Silesia in a nutshell

If you start the ride in Luboradz, which can be easily reached by train, the first 12 km will be
an idyllic ride on smooth asphalt roads among the fields where you gradually approach the
line of hills. Further, after slight climbs, the heights of the Kaczawa Foothills await and it is
still a pleasant ride. Smooth asphalt allows you to enjoy the descents. From Muchow, the
route suddenly shows its claws. The hills steepen. The uphill section to Radzimowice is the
first indication of this. Later, you quite calmly cycle to Wojcieszow and must deal with a
really steep uphill stretch to the Komarno Pass. The asphalt road already reaches 18% of
steepness, but after going down to the dirt road it gets even more challenging. However, you
can enjoy beautiful views from the pass and then there is a crazy descent to Komarno. It is
priceless. So you started in the north on a flat lowland with a view of the hills and ended up
climbing the mountains. Simply, Lower Silesia in a nutshell. Of course, the ride does not end
in Komarno and you need to cycle further (e.g. use the Bicycle Ring Road of Jelenia Gora to
Janowice Wielkie, where the return train is awaiting).
