Swiebodzice, blue. DOT139
Route details
Short characteristics
The route is led mostly on dirt roads when you cycle uphill to Cisow and Ksiaz, beyond the Lubiechow Airport. The track is quite well marked. You pass the Daisy Lake and the Ksiaz Castle on the way and there are some nice views over Swiebodzice.
This is a great route designated in a varied terrain. There are extensive field sections with beautiful views, asphalt steep climbs and descents, as well as forest MTB gravel roads. In addition, you pass the tourist attractions of the Ksiaz Castle and the Daisy ‘wilderness’. The description goes anti-clockwise.
Ksiaz – Ciernie (0-12 km)
You begin the ride at the car park in Ksiaz. After a quick visit to the view point you leave this popular spot and, from the roundabout on, the track gets more and more intimate. Once you have passed Lubiechow, there is a short but quite steep climb. Then you ride down across the scenic fields. In Ciernie you have to take a detour of a closed section (I have already modified the route).
Ciernie – Swiebodzice (12-21 km)
It is a beautiful and quiet section with extensive views. You follow some even asphalt roads but there also are a lot of dirt roads. This section is rather flat but there are nice views over the Walbrzych-Bolkow Hills.
Swiebodzice – Ksiaz (21-32 km)
It is quite a demanding section. Out of town, you ride uphill to Cisow for 3km with beautiful panorama of Swiebodzice. The road is comfortable with 7% of steepness, so it should be easy. After turning off the main asphalt road, it is worth stopping because the views over the Walbrzych Mountains are spectacular there. Later, there is a descent and the final sharp climb from Pelcznica to Ksiaz. The Rhododendron Valley is right next to the route, so in May you have to stop to admire the plants.
