The Odra River Trail Part VI

A short characteristic of the entire trail can be found at DOT70.

Malczyce-Scinawa

This loop is about 61 km long and it is entirely consistent with the ‘historical’ version of the Odra river Trail. It can be divided into sections using the train stations in Malczyce, Scinawa or Malowice Wolowskie. Starting from the description at the bridge on the Odra river before Lubiaz, you go clockwise. In the left-bank part you ride mainly on dirt roads in forest complexes, but before Prochowice (and Scinawa) there is an asphalt stretch. Twice you ride right by the river and there you really have to stop in order to admire Dziewin with charming oxbow lakes and abundance of natural life, including white-tailed eagles and honey buzzards. In the village with 800 years of history you can see the ruins of a manor house. You cross to the right bank of the Odra River over the bridge in Scinawa.

The return ride is at first calm, on asphalt roads in an open landscape. In Tarchalice, you must see the remains of an ancient metallurgical settlement. Then you enter the woods and you stay there right until the end. There is a wide variety of types of paths: wide tracks and overgrown paths and there is also a stretch of unpleasant cobblestones. In a few places you ride again close to the river, so you can enjoy it. Before Lubiaz there is the unfortunately dry Odrzysko reserve. At the finish you can admire a world-class monument: the abbey in Lubiaz. Description in DOT80
