Route details

.Short characteristics

It is a light MTB track with great landscape and natural values. It is a part of the Bicycle Land system. There are three different variants under the common number 13. The shortest is the ‘ordinary’ number 13 (without a letter designation; from Jakuszyce directly to Orla), the longer one (also in Poland) has the designation 13A.The longest is 13B leads partly throughthe Czech Republic with a difficult enduro descent across the bridge over the Jizera River and a makeshift bridge over the Jizera River. In the described 13A variant you mainly cycle on comfortable gravel roads, with gradients practically not exceeding 7.5%. The description goes clockwise.

1. Jakuszyce – Border

The beginning of your ride on a dilapidated road near the construction site of the Sports Centre may be a challenge.

2. Border – Orle
This is where variants 13 and 13A diverge. In the latter you continue the ride on comfortable forest gravel roads.

3. Orle – Izera Meadow (Hala Izerska)
It is the most interesting part of the loop. You start near the Jizera River, which is worth a longer stop. A bit further, the Izera Meadow (Hala Izerska) begins with characteristic, peat- bog vegetation. The crowning point is the famous The Mountaineers' Hut.

4. The Mountaineers' Hut – The Green Shed
This is a forest section running close to the border with an interesting history of smuggling.

5. Green Shed – Jakuszyce
You continue the ride on forest gravel road with mountain views occasionally breaking through on the way. Behind the Old Customs Road there is a difficult but quite short section of a stony path.
